Social Care
Market Sustainability
A major part of social care reform has been understanding the cost of care for providers and ensuring a sustainable local market through the development of market sustainability plans.
Our ability to actively engage with care providers, commissioners and the DHSC and to provide detailed qualitative and quantitative research has been recognised as we supported around 10% of all councils with responsibility for adult social care to undertake a fair cost of care exercise and develop market sustainability plans.
These plans focused on commissioning and engaging the market in extremely challenging times to ensure the best care outcomes are achieved in the most efficient and effective way. This work made us one of the largest providers in this sector.

This recent work around the Fair Cost of Care exercise is on top of ongoing work in the sector supporting social by:
-
Developing market position statements
-
Reviewing commissioning arrangements, processes and practices
-
Determine the cost of care for niche social care providers
-
Supporting the development of optimum blend for a council between in house and outsourced provision as well as in area and out of area in order to deliver the best outcomes in the most efficient manner
Councils we support in this way include:
-
Cheshire East
-
Northumberland
-
Liverpool
-
North Tyneside
-
Knowsley
-
Gateshead
-
St Helen’s
-
Redcar and Cleveland
-

-

-

-
